Prof. Dr. Mohamed Hanteera, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Tanta University and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors, inaugurated the ‘Nidaa’ Initiative at the Faculty of Medicine and its university hospitals for the early detection of breast tumors. The initiative is presented by the Main Center for Community Public Services at Tanta University, in collaboration with the Departments of Oncology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Oncology Surgery Unit of the General Surgery Department, and the Safe Women Clinics at the International Teaching Hospital of Tanta University Hospitals.
This was as part of the Presidential Initiative for the Early Detection of Breast Tumors, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein Mahmoud, President of Tanta University, Prof. Mahmoud Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Prof. Mohamed Hanteera, Acting Dean of the Faculty and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board of Directors.
During his speech, Prof. Mohamed Hanteera praised the presidential initiatives supporting the health of Egyptian women, emphasizing that women represent half of society and that awareness is a fundamental right for every woman. He stressed the importance of increasing awareness and promoting early detection of breast tumors, noting that early diagnosis increases cure rates, expands treatment options, and spares women from undergoing major surgeries. He also extended his appreciation to all cooperating bodies supporting the university and the faculty in this field, including the National Council for Women, civil society organizations, and the Safe Women Unit at Tanta University and its hospitals, for their efforts in advancing women’s health, family care, and community education.
At the Safe Women Clinics in the International Teaching Hospital of Tanta University Hospitals, cases were received and examined free of charge, with eligible cases referred for further imaging, tests, and treatment at Tanta University Hospitals under the supervision of a distinguished group of faculty members and supporting staff.”
