Prof. Ahmed Ghoneim, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Tanta University and Chairman of the Board of University Hospitals, announced the continued successes of complex microsurgical operations performed by the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department, in cooperation with the Anesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care Department. The team successfully reattached a completely amputated right wrist after 3 hours of separation for a patient in his forties from Gharbia Governorate.

This precise microsurgical operation was performed as an emergency procedure free of charge, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein Mahmoud, President of Tanta University,Prof. Ahmed Ghoneim, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of University Hospitals and under the supervision of Prof. Hassan El-Tatawy, Executive Director of University Hospitals, Prof. Mohamed El-Shebiny, Supervisor of the Emergency Unit at Tanta University Hospitals, Prof. Wael Hussein, Head of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department, Prof. Sabry Amin, Head of the Anesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care Department and Prof. Mohamed El-Ghazali, Lecturer in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department at the faculty.
