Parasitology Department at Tanta Faculty of Medicine was set up in 1962. The headquarters of the department was transferred to the new Faculty building in 1981. Since then, the departmrent has achieved the following:
• Applying the latest techniques in education and assessment:
- The department was one of the first departmenmts to apply periodic assessment and MCQ.
- Auditoriums and labs are equipped with modern electronic projectors.
• The department was one of the first departments to restrict to and apply the requirements of quality standards in education for under and postgraduate students.
• Academic staff members at the department have published a number of research papers which follow up the latest international trends in scientific research in addition to a share in international publication.
• Participating in the E-Learning system which is adopted by the University.
• The department always develops itself to cope up with the latest trends in diagnosis and treatment.
• Effective participation in the annual conference of the Faculty, workshops, local and international specialized conferences. In addition, it communicates effectively with parasitology departments at other at Egyptian universities.
