Psychiatric and Mental Health Department was set up in 1968 as a unit which was affiliated to Internal Medicine Department. Faculty of Medicine then was affiliated to Alexandria University. Then, the department separated from Internal Medicine Department to be independent in April, 1994. The department offers wide variety of therapeutic services in psychiatric and mental health branches.
