Department of Physiology is one of the academic departments in the faculty of medicine Tanta University. It participates in courses and programs of study for undergraduate and graduate medical students.
Physiology is the study of how the body works in health and disease at all levels including molecular, genomic, proteomic, ionic, cellular, organ and whole organism. Our Department is dedicated to understanding fundamental physiological processes and translating these to clinical care.
Chairman of the Physiology Department :
? Prof. Dr. Mahmoud EL-Srougy was the first chairman for department of Physiology and was the first to form organization of department followed up till now. He continued in this place till 1981.
? Prof. Dr. Salma EL- Way Nassar took the responsibility till 1988.
