Tanta University President Inaugurates Activities of Hypertension and Hepatitis World Day

 

Prof. Magdi Sab', Tanta University President, inaugurated Activities of Hypertension and Hepatitis World Day at Faculty of Medicine today, Saturday. The Day is organized by Training and Continuing Education Unit at University Hospitals. Its activities continue for two days at Conferences Hall at Faculty of Medicine. 

    In the speech he delivered, University President affirmed the significance of the initiative launched by President\ Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, “For a Better Health”, which included two main aspects. The first aspect was to know about communicable diseases and the second one was to provide an overall database of citizens through the medical check-ups in order to present health services in the correct way.  

     Prof. Sab' commended the role of nursing staff at University Hospitals as main partners in the success of the whole medical system in addition to their role in educating citizens and disseminating awareness among them.  

    Prof. Ahmed Ghoneim, Dean of Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of University Hospitals’ Board, declared that hypertension and hepatitis were of the dangerous insidious diseases which we had to present awareness against and to face.

   In the talk he gave, Dr. Hassan Al-Tatawy, General Supervisor of University Hospitals, indicated that there was a high percentage of patients who suffered from those hazardous diseases confirming the important role played by the nursing staff in awareness against those diseases.

  Prof. Sahar Hazza', Faculty Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development and Manager of Quality and Performance Assessment Administration, highlighted keenness of the University on spreading health awareness among hypertension patients as that disease was considered an insidious killer one with no signs or symptoms. She pointed out that nervous tension, chronic kidney diseases, having too much salt, lack of physical activity, diabetes, heavy smoking and drinking alcohol were reasons of that disease.
