Prof. Magdi Sab', Tanta University President, inaugurated on Tuesday activities of the 34th international conference organized by Faculty of Medicine under the title “For a Better Medical Practice, Egyptianizing International Standards” with participation of Prof. Mustafa Al-Sheikh, University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. 'Amr Zo'eir, Acting Dean of the Faculty.
In his speech, Prof. Magdi Sab' welcomed all attendees and affirmed the role of international conferences in upgrading the educational and research level at the University. He indicated that it was necessary to adopt new research ideas. He thanked personnel of Faculty of Medicine for their keenness on organizing that conference annually to help raise the level of the Faculty and to make it a unique one at the level of Egyptian universities.
In the speech he delivered, Prof. Mustafa Al-Sheikh indicated that the University under presidency of Prof. Magdi Sab' had established a group of rules to enhance scientific research in general such as increasing conferences and the financial support allocated to them. He thanked Prof. 'Amro Zo'eir and personnel at Faculty of Medicine for their keenness on organizing the 34th round of the conference that continued for three days. Furthermore, professors who gained awards of scientific publishing and University awards were honored during the conference. He asserted that the University did not spare any effort to present support for conferences, scientific research and raising the world ranking of the University.
Prof. 'Amro Zo'eir pointed out that the conference included many basic issues such as the guiding principles of hepatitis C virus, internal diseases, advancements in gastrointestinal endoscopy, new findings in hepatic diseases, gastrointestinal system and communicable diseases, current challenges in pediatric medicine, safe surgeries of tumors, future of mental health, urology, new findings in medical education and advanced courses on anatomy.
During the conference, Faculty Shields were granted to Prof. Magdi Sab', Prof. Mustafa Al-Sheikh, Author\ Nabil Farouk and a group of professors in attendance of Prof. Magdi Al-Hefnawi, Head of Medical Syndicate in Gharbia; a group of academic staff and a number of researchers from different universities.
