Welcome

CBMBP welcome all students for a new program and
anew beginning we expect the best from you.

                                                   FIRST: INTRODUCTION AND PROGRAM SUBSTRACTION

STUDY COMPONENTS OF THE PROGRAM :
MODULES: THESE MODULES HAVE DIFFERENT CREDIT HOURS AND DIFFERENT STUDY BURDENS.
THE PROGRAM HAS INDIVIDUAL COURSES (BASICS OF MEDICAL SCIENCE), COURSES THAT
REPRESENT A COMBINATION OF A NUMBER OF MODULES OF VARYING SIZE AND WEIGHT WHERE
LEARNING WILL BE THROUGH HORIZONTAL INTEGRATION, BODY SYSTEMS COURSES WHERE
VERTICAL INTEGRATION FOR ALL BODY SYSTEMS TAKES PLACE AND COURSES OF DIFFERENT SKILLS,
EITHER TO BE INDIVIDUAL COURSES FOR A SINGLE FIELD OR COURSES OF SEVERAL MODULES AND
COVER A NUMBER OF SKILLS; THOSE COURSES REPRESENT TO GREAT EXTEND SPIRAL INTEGRATION.
ADDITIONALLY, LEARNING IN CLINICAL YEARS WILL BE THROUGH CLERKSHIP THAT WILL SUPPORT
                                  VERTICAL AND SPIRAL INTEGRATION.

                                  CREDIT HOUR SYSTEM :
ACCORDING TO THE DEFINITION OF THE CARNEGIE INSTITUTE, ONE CREDIT HOUR EQUALS 15 HOURS
THEORETICAL (15-18) IN THE SEMESTER I.E. 15 LECTURES, EACH 60 MINUTES), OR 15 PRACTICAL
SESSIONS (15-18) EACH ABOUT 2 HOURS (100-120 MINUTES) OR 15 TRAINING SESSIONS OR
WORKSHOPS EACH ABOUT TWO HOURS AN HALF (150-180 MINUTES) TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION
                                  OTHER ACTIVITIES.
THE TOTAL NUMBER OF CREDIT HOURS IN ONE SEMESTER DEPENDS ON THE NUMBER OF WEEKS
AND THE TYPE OF COURSES. HOWEVER, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE NUMBER OF CREDIT HOURS
EXCEEDS THE NUMBER OF ACADEMIC WEEKS PER SEMESTER IN CASE OF INCREASING THE NUMBER
OF EDUCATIONAL HOURS AVAILABLE PER DAY.

                                  SELF-DIRECTED LEARNING :
AS ALL MODERN CURRICULA, THE NEW INTERNATIONAL CURRICULUM DEPENDS ON THAT THE
WHOLE TIME IN THE COLLEGE NOT ONLY FOR THE STUDY, BUT A LARGE PART OF THE HOURS FOR
RESEARCH AND SELF-DIRECTED LEARNING AND THEREFORE LEAVE THE APPROPRIATE SPACES IN
                                  THE TABLE FOR SELF-LEARNING
WITHIN THE COLLEGE (FOR EXAMPLE, 6 WORKING DAYS PER WEEK MULTIPLIED BY 6-8 WORKING
HOURS = 36-48 WORKING HOURS AVAILABLE PER WEEK. WE TAKE AT LEAST ONE-THIRD OF THESE
FOR SELF-DIRECTED LEARNING AND RESEARCH. THE REMAINING 24-36 HOURS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED
TO THE SEMESTER COURSES PER WEEK.
                                  PROBLEM BASED LEARNING:
THE PROGRAM IS CHARACTERIZED BY ATTENTION TO THE PHILOSOPHY OF PROBLEM BASED
LEARNING IN THE THIRD YEAR, WHERE THERE WILL BE STUDY OF 4-6 CASES IN EACH COURSE,
TAKING THE NECESSARY TO ENSURE NOT TO FALL INTO SOME DEFECTS OF THE APPLICATION (LACK
OF INFORMATION AND SKILL BETWEEN STUDENTS, WHICH REDUCES THE POSSIBILITY OF
CONSTRUCTIVENESS) BY COMBINING THE STRATEGY OF TEAM BASED LEARNING AND ITS USE TO
FORM A KNOWLEDGE BASE AND SKILLS AND THEN MOVE THE STUDENTS TO THE STRATEGY OF
                                  PROBLEM BASED LEARNING.
ALL THESE MEDICAL PROBLEMS ARE PREDETERMINED IN A COORDINATION FRAMEWORK BETWEEN
THE SCOTTISH STANDARDS AND METHODOLOGY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DUNDEE AND THE
COOPERATION BETWEEN THE COMMITTEE OF CURRICULUM AND THE DEPARTMENTS TO ENSURE THE
LACK OF REPETITION AND TO ENSURE INTEGRATION & THAT THE PROBLEMS ARE COMMON AND
RELATED TO THE COMMUNITY AND THAT THEY ARE THE BASIC OF THE TRAINING OF THE GRADUATES
OF THE INTERNATIONAL FACULTIES OF MEDICINE (ADAPTED FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF DUNDEE,
SCOTLAND). THESE COURSES ARE AIMING TO:
                                  * IMPROVEMENT OF RESEARCH, ACTIVE LEARNING, SELF-DIRECTED LEARNING, COMMUNICATION
AND DISCUSSION SKILLS, THEN IMPROVEMENT OF THESE SKILLS INSIDE THE GROUPS. OBJECTIVE
EVALUATION WILL BE DONE FOR EACH STUDENT FROM STUFF MEMBERS AND HIS COLLEAGUES.
                                  * PRESENTATION TO MULTIPLE EXPERTS IN THE SAME CASE TO GIVE THEIR OPINIONS FOR EACH
GROUP AND FOR THE OVERALL INTEREST & OBJECTIVE EVALUATION OF THE GROUP AS A WHOLE.
                                  * PRESENTATIONS WILL BE RECORDED TO BE USED FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE STUDENT, THE
